Wolfgang Wetterauer

Earlier I sent this message to Wolfgang's eMail, in case anyone was watching. 05.Nov.2010 Sorry about the english, aber Ich lese Deutsch ohne Problem. I was saddened to learn this evening of Wolfgang's death on 31.October.2010. On the other hand, I was not surprised. It had been some time since we communicated, but I felt that Wolfgang was not happy, either with himself or with the medical attention that he had received over the last few years. Wolfgang worked well together while he was at DLG. He left shortly after I returned to the USA. While I was at DLG, I served him and DLG as a self-employed consultant, and while I tried to provide the best service that I could, he provided a constant stream of projects for me to work on. I returned to the USA for a year in mid-1990, then returned to southern Germany to a permanent job in mid-1991. At the end of 1992 that job disappeared and I returned to Frankfurt, again as a consultant. Wolfgang again had interesting projects for me to help with. A couple of years later I again returned to the USA, uncertain of what I would be doing, but Wolfgang called me back. During that time he allowed me to participate in sales meetings that eventually led to very interesting employment in the USA. I am very indebted to Wolfgang and have missed him very much. I hope that he rests in the peace that he richly deserves. And I hope that you, his survivors, hold him well in your memory and will be as kind to strangers as he was. Best wishes to you.
