Helmi Kluge

My hearfelt sympathy to all of the Kluge family and friends of Helmi, in the sad news of her passing.  I have such wonderful memories of the fun we had together when I came to Germany, and how I cried (as did she) when we said goodbye at the end of that trip, knowing that we would probably not have the opportunity to see each other again.  I rememer sharing with her a book of Edward Hopper paintings as he was a native of Nyack, where I lived - and her delight in exclaiming 'I know this artist!' since she had seen an exhibilition of his paintings when she was in New York.  I will always remember how she translated for so many of us who spoke different languages and I will especially treasure the memory of how she made me feel not only welcome, but loved like family when we were there.  I am truly saddened by the loss of this lovely woman, and my prayers and thoughts will be with you during this time of loss.  Much love from Louanne
